I was readin this article on "mx" paper today..
title's " Student Transport Demand" and it says
"University of Sydney vice-chancellor Gavin Brown has called on the State Government to scrap its desicion on withhold public transport concessions from overseas students."
"Other state governments provide them and education is an export market."
"I think it's only fair as students that come to Sydney spend a large amount of money here, so it's a big earner for the State Government."
"Brown rejected Transport Minister John Watkins' claims that most overseas students were rich."
Go, Gavin Brown!
Firstly, overseas students are just same as local students who are studying in schools or universities and the main income source is from their family.
Secondly, overseas students have paid so much towards Australian Educations.
Plus, most overseas students work and pay tax every year. if they have been paying tax income towards the government, why doesn't the government think of them?

Who the hell's this Gavin Brown? Haven't we international students felt like we spend a fortune on uni course fees? To say that it's fair for internationals to spend a lot of money is very discriminating. He should just take care of USyd.
